To conclude the season of activities for 2024, 29 competitors lined up for the Inaugural Cross Country Mile event.
However, before the start all recorded a time they guessed would be close to their time.
Surprisingly enough, despite the strong westerly winds and the fact this distance at Willandra had not been run before, 8 competitors were within 1 second to 25 seconds correct. Well done everyone!!
The Annual General Meeting was conducted. All positions were filled as follows:

The meeting closed and Presentation of Certificates and Special Awards followed. Special thanks and recognition of excellent results to our three Australian Cross Country Representatives Annie Dziubinski, Cleo McArthur and Joel Harlor.
Cristine Suffolk our amazing Masters runner who is a great ambassador for Victory Runners was congratulated on receiving her 500th. Medal during the year. This amazing collection began when Crissy started middle distance running 37 years ago.
While on the subject of Medals we recognize with pride our three 10 year old girls, Ashleigh Astin-Briggs, Cailin Burbage and Cleo McArthur who won medals in the 10yrs Team events. Silver at Athletics NSW State XC at Willandra in June and Gold at the Short Course XC at Dapto in July. Truly a great achievement.
In closing this section of the Awards our two Special Recognition Certificates were presented. Family Award for ‘Top’ Attendance and Participation: Presented to Astin-Briggs Family. Last but not least the High Achievement Award: Presented to Annie Dziubinski who placed 4th. in U12 Australian 3k Cross Country Championships held in Tasmania. Annie also received a Gold medal as Team member of NSW who won the U12 Teams Award.
To conclude the enjoyable afternoon, despite the westerly wind, members were invited to a light meal of refreshments provided by Willandra.
