Perfect winter afternoons were experienced for Weeks 18 and 19, despite school holidays, attendance was pleasing.
Hopefully members have been enjoying and appreciating the coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Everyone who has competed, or is yet to compete are representing their country, which reminds me of the butterfly in our Quote for the month.
This in turn allows us to enjoy and appreciate the wonderful competition. Medals are like the icing on the cake, but certainly not as important as the competitors!
You will notice slightly different format for Week 19 results. We attempted to conduct some two person relays which didn’t quite go to plan. However most importantly all competitors had fun. Many came through the finish, were given a place card after running a 1km, then continued running a distance of their choice. Overall distance and times were recorded for these keen competitors. All places and times are listed in finish order.
We are delighted to report that four of our members have qualified for the NSW team to compete at the Australian Cross Country Championships to be held in Tasmania on Saturday 31st August. Annie Dziubinksi, Cleo McArthur and Owen Harlor will all compete, Bridget Fairs has qualified but is unable to attend. Annie has also qualified for the Australian All Schools Championships to be held in Victoria from 20th – 23rd August. Well done and well deserved!
