Athletics NSW and Little A’s State Cross Country Championships Hosted by Willandra and Victory Runners. Saturday June 22nd
A very BIG vote of thanks for all who assisted to make a very cold winters day a great success. We certainly could not control the weather but members and friends were quite amazing by slotting in to the various tasks that needed attention.
The Victory Runners Cake Stall continued to be very popular and financially successful. Many thanks to our great cooks who contributed.
As a small winter club, we were very proud to have had 14 members who competed in the Championship events.

Jai Burbage: 4th. U8 1k PB time 4:21 Best on Record Time for 7yrs.
Thomas Dziubinski 6th. U10 1.5k PB time 5:57 Best on Record Time for 9yrs.
Owen Harlor 9th. U11 2k PB time 7:37 Best on Record Time for 10yrs. Owen also has an opportunity to qualify for the Australian XC at Short Course.
Annie Dziubinski 7th. U12 2k PB Time 7:47 Best on Record Time for 11 yrs. Annie also received automatic selection for the Australian XC in Tasmania.
Layla Burbage 17th. U12 2k 9.07 PB Time
Cailin Burbage 15th. U11 2k 9:10 PB Time
Cleo Macarthur 8th. U11 2k 8:16 PB Time Cleo also received automatic selection for Australian XC in Tasmania.
Ashleigh Astin-Briggs 19th. U11 2k 10:33 PB Time
In addition Cailin, Cleo and Ashleigh were awarded the Silver Medal for Victory Runners placing second in the 11yrs Girls Team event . An excellent result.
Frances Peabody 17th. U12 2k 9:13 PB Time
Morten Ellerington 20th. U13 3k 11:30 PB Time
Joshua Astin-Briggs 24th. U13 3k 15:49 PB Time.
Bridget Fairs 6th. U20 6k 25:05 PB Time. Bridget also received automatic selection for the Australian XC in Tasmania.
Cristine Suffolk 3rd. 50 – 54yrs 6k 27: 54 Crissy has lots of experience behind her and continues to always do her best. With her Bronze medal now giving her a Medal Tally of 499 since she started competing at 16yrs of age. Cristne is a wonderful ambassador for never giving up. We are sure she will reach 500 medals in the not too distant future and Victory Runners look forward to celebrating with her.
Irwin Burbage 4th. 40 – 44yrs 10k. 42:10 Just missing out on a Bronze Medal, but achieved a PB time, setting his Best on Record 10k time a little lower.
The Tait family, Dan, Annalies and son Henry managed in between various tasks during the day, to fly the flag for Victory Runners and competed in the 2k FunRun.

In events, it doesn’t matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. At least you can say, “I have finished.”
There is a lot of satisfaction in that.
