Almost a touch of spring greeted the forty two participants as they lined up for their activity of running or walking.
We were very proud of six members who competed in the ANSW Short Course XC Championships at Dapto on Saturday 8th. July.
The U12 girls were the first event with 3 Victory members lining up , Sisters Layla and Cailin Burbage and Annie Dziubinski. All three ran really well over the reasonably flat course of 1500mts. Annie ran a well planned even to place a very creditable third and receive the Bronze medal clocking the same time as second place. The three girls will also be eligible for the same event next year.
Our two speedy young lads, 8yrs Tommy Dziubinski and 6yrs Jai Burbage enjoyed the 2k Fun Run. Both ran the fastest 2k times for their ages from all the contestants. Nice work boys.
Our great supporter of Masters events, Cristine Suffolk achieved another Medal to add to her growing total by placing a well deserved 3rd in her age category over 4k. Well done Crissy.
A sincere thanks to the athletes and their families who represented Victory at this event.
Quite a number of local athletes will be representing the South Coast Region or their State School on Friday 21st at Eastern Creek All Schools Cross Country Carnival. Our very best wishes for a really good effort at the event are extended to Annie Dziubinski, Bridget Fairs and Joel Harlor.
Look forward to Week 17 on Saturday 22nd July as we just pass the middle of the winter, hopefully the afternoon weather will again be enjoyable.
New folk always welcome, just turn up at Willandra around 2.30pm and choose your distance to walk & talk or run for fun. Official start of all distances 3.00pm.
