Certainly weather was responsible for our extremely low number of participants for Week 6
Visitors actually tallied more than Victory members as starters lined up in the rain for their activity.
5 year old Jake Prince was first to finish with his mum in the 1k distance and appeared to enjoy his first run in the wet conditions. First and fastest in the 2k was young 8yr old visitor from Bulli Callum Dowd.
3k Distance was won by a visitor also as Lizzie Ward took out line honours with 2nd place Masters stalwart Eva Moeller–Duhme. The rain didn’t deter Kaja Wolter , also from Bulli, in her first time over the 4k, finished in a good time on a wet slippery course in 16:21. Two visitors Hamish & Emily McLaren started their 6k & 4k event a little late so their times recorded may not be correct.
Alice Parnell our lone walker didn’t allow rain to deter her completing the 2k distance, while visitor Emma O’Sullvan took the opportunity to complete the 8k distance, despite the wet conditions, completing the two laps in a very good time of 33:56. Very impressive Emma.

For individuals and families interested in making notes on their calendar, Victory Runners are inviting members from South Coast Clubs who would like a trial run at Willandra before the Athletics NSW State XC in June to join us on Saturday 20th. May for a 3.00pm start.
Trusting the wet conditions are heading out to sea and Saturday May 6th. will produce an afternoon of pleasant autumn weather for Week 7 ! Visitors and new members welcome to join us for a trial run or walk starting promptly at 3.00pm.
