Once again the lovely autumn weather was ideal for runners and walkers alike. As expected numbers were up and new members and visitors were welcomed.
First to cross the finish line were our very keen 1k runners with a few posting good improvements. The 1k Improver of the week was seven year old Andrew Tallon. Well done Andrew. Another keen seven year old, Solomon Grimston managed to lower his time in his third 1k run to finish under 8:00.
The 2k Improver of the week is shared by two youngsters who both managed also to set Best on Record times for their ages. Congratulations to 8 year old Rachael Clarke who clocked 9:42 from her previous best time of 10:19. Just five seconds later 10 year old Francis Peabody crossed the finish to improved his record from 10:07 to 9:47. Both these youngsters are very good competition for each other.
3k Distance Improver of the week was achieved by Karissa Corsaro who managed to reduce her time over the 3k by almost 30 seconds. Well done Karissa.
4k Distance Improvers totalled 3 this week, namely Cristine Suffolk, Dan Peabody and Eli Jones. Well done. All being well on Saturday 29th we may start on some handicap times just to make the finish a little closer and more competitive.
Our walkers also managed to improve over the 2k. Well done to Lorraine Stevens and Helen & Bob Redenbach.
Hopefully the rain forecast for Saturday will not interfere with our activity. Running in the rain is possible just a bit uncomfortable. We only cancel if the downpour is extreme.
New members always welcome or come and try before you decide. Arrive at Willandra around 2:30pm for a 3:00pm start of all distances.
