Despite the forecast for showers, and the presence of threatening clouds the weather remained fine for the second week of running and walking.
Our attendance was very low as expected, for a number of reasons. This did not take away from the enjoyment of participating. However, we look forward to members who are on the unwell list to be back with us next week.
Congratulations to the following ‘Top 5 improvers of the week’. 8 year old Charlie Jones managed to reduce her 1k time by over a minute. Top of the list for the 2k was a very good run from Rebecca Clarke, while in the 3k distance, Eleanor Parnell took out line honours and was the top 3k improver. Capping the improvers for the week, making it four out of five for the girls, Heidi Murray managed to reduce her 2k walk time by 30 seconds. The 4k distance was very light on for numbers, however Dan Peabody didn’t let the girls have it all their way and covered the distance to improve by a minute.
Members enjoyed drinks, scones, jam & cream before heading home after their activity. We look forward to meeting again on Easter Saturday. Any visitors to the area for the Easter break and school holidays are very welcome to join us at Willandra for a 3.00pm start for all distances. New families and individuals wishing to try out for becoming members please feel free to come along.
