Pleasant weather conditions were again enjoyed at Willandra for Week Six of the point score competition. It was pleasing to welcome Julian Wicks who was accompanied by his two young daughters and mother Alison. Madeleine and Emily enjoyed the 1k run while Julian took the opportunity for an easy lap of the 4k.
Six year old Layla Prince improved her 1k time considerably to claim the top points in the 1k sealed handicap event closely followed by James Wilson for second. Sisters Layla & Cailin Burbage were awarded 6 points for third. Both finishing with identical adjusted time. Layla’s corrected time was also the fastest.
It was a popular day for family features. 2k event Ayden Spicer won Section 1 while sister Ashley won Section 2 and mother Natasha gained the honours of fastest female in the 4k.
Two other families to feature with all four members competing were, Josef and Kirsten Pichler & daughter Johanna competed in the 3k and son Reuben took line honours in the 4k Section 1 and also clocked fastest male.
Not to be outdone were the Sim family with Angela in the 3k walk, while Stewart and daughters Alyssa and Amelia placed first, second and third in section 2 of the 4k. Well done to all.
Notable individuals who were impressive with their PB performances were Hailey D’Ombrain, Joel Harlor, Cameron Harrison and Paul Jennings.
