Once again a beautiful autumn day was appreciated by Victory runners & walkers for Week nine.
Congratulations to our Primary school members who represented their schools at the District cross country carnival on Friday 18th. at Willandra.
Apologies to 10 year old twin sisters Megan & Darcie Johnson and to 9 year old Parker Jobson who were not listed in last weeks report with the other six representatives, this meant Victory Runners had nine members competing at District.
(Offers from anyone interested in the position of ‘roving reporter’ for our club, will be gratefully accepted.)
From all accounts some great results were achieved, with many just missing out on Regional selection or placing in the top twenty. Victory Runners Inc. are very proud of your achievements against the best for your age in the Shoalhaven District.
Congratulations to Alyssa Sim who was second in the 10yrs girls 2k. while Mia Jobson placed 5th in the 11yrs girls 3k. Both will represent the Shoalhaven area at the Combined South Coast Regional carnival at Willandra on Friday 1st. June. Young Parker Jobson placed 6th in a very close finish in the 9 year boys 2k and is 1st reserve for Regional.
Three lucky place cards drawn out this week went to Lexie Burinaga, Erich Moeller – Duhme and Selin Onsel. The ‘hidden time’ was the number 9 (signifying week 9) This was awarded to two competitors whose time digits added to 9. Bella Rose ran 13: 41 and James Wilson’s time was 15:30.These two young members may collect their lucky award on Sunday.
Just reminding all members of the Get-to-Gether Luncheon planned for after the run or walk next Sunday 27th. May.
Please just bring some food to share. Finger food or BBQ items (BBQ will be in action) or something sweet to enjoy with a cuppa! Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be provided plus drinks for the youngsters.
Some fun activities are also planned for the those young at heart, who don’t use all their energy with a run or walk!!
New and interested members, as always, will be very welcome.
