Windy Willandra lived up to its reputation on Sunday 15th. April when some very brave runners & walkers decided not to let the gale force westerly winds deter them.
Despite the extremely windy conditions there were fifteen starters and finishes in Week Four activity of Victory Runners.
Our quote for Week Four was quite appropriate ….. A ship is always safe at the shore, but that is not what it’s built for. ( Albert Einstein)
Young Brodie Wilson was first to finish and also one of two recipients for nailing the ‘secret time’ award which had to feature 15 (the date.) Brodie ran 1k in 6.54 and Amelia Sim our second recipient ran 4k in 25.17. Both digits in their times add up to 15. Well done, you can receive your sweet treat next Sunday.
Lucky place draw was won by Leonie Whiting who certainly earned her sweets by choosing to do a windy 4k walk accompanied by her daughter Ally who was visiting for the weekend. Well done to all participants for your effort
Week Five will be at Willandra on Sunday 22nd. at 10am. Hopefully weather conditions will be more favourable.
Visitors and potential members certainly very welcome to come and try out. Walk or run is your choice, ranging from 1k through to 10k.
