About Us

Our Mission

Victory Runners Incorporated is a group formed for runners and walkers of all ages and all abilities. From the super-fast elite athlete to the steady jogger, contented plodder and complete beginner.

The significance of choosing the name ‘Victory Runners’ is based on a dictionary meaning for victory which is: ‘success in any contest or struggle which involves overcoming obstacles.’

The mission of Victory Runners is primarily to encourage and support members to achieve personal goals, which for each individual can be considered a personal victory!
These goals may range from consistent performances, steady improvements, to overcoming an obstacle or several obstacles along the way. These obstacles could vary from complacency to a large range of adversities that people are facing today.

Our Objectives

To promote running and walking as a healthy, affordable, inclusive recreational activity within the local community of the Shoalhaven District and beyond.

To organise a variety of events and competitions that will attract interest and participation from families and individuals in a safe and sociable atmosphere.

To offer members access to weekly group training sessions.

To encourage individual or team representation at local, state, national and international running events if members desire.

To enable members to build lasting relationships and friendships through social events.

The homeground advantage

As a Victory Runners member, you have access to utilise one of Australia’s best competition grade Cross Country Venues – Willandra at Tapitallee. As proud sponsors of Victory Runners Inc, owners of Willandra Rod and Jan Gibb are thrilled to open their property for the use of Victory Runners as their ‘Home Ground’. Both Rod and Jan Gibb are stalwarts for Running and athletics in the Shoalhaven community and both have received an Order of Australia Medal for their commitment to the growth of Athletics as a sport in Australia. ‘Victory Runners’ is the brain child of Jan Gibb and Victory Runners president, Kevyn Davis, who not content with their retirement from service to Athletics and running in the local community, wanted to start a new running club where the focus is on members coming together for organised exercise in a fun and friendly environment. It is very important to Jan and Kevyn to foster a running club where an individuals’ well-being is nurtured as much as the friendly competition is encouraged. Both Jan and Rod hope that Victory Runners members will be rejuvenated and enriched by the beauty and tranquillity of their scenic property at Willandra where newcomers are always welcome.
